Write for five minutes on the several techniques we have already discussed and used for making our reading more efficient. What works, what will work with practice, and what do you hope to incorporate into your study habits?
I think its good how we dicuss the chapter in class, and ask questions about what we don't know about the chapter.
What i want to incorporate into my studying skills is how to condense every thing into very little amounts, i usually copy out of the book (not everything-just what i need). I agree with poolman though:

I agree. Talking over specific subjects is very helpful. But I was wondering if maybe a day before the test we could go over all five chapters.
I like what we already do(mabe some songs and dance?) and mabe i can study longer?
The fact that we discuss the chapter in class works for both the student and the teacher. We develop an overview of the chapter, as well as, discuss other categories in the chapters. I enjoy the idea of taking two column notes. It really does help understand the chapter a little better. Not to mention the discussions in class give Mr. Courtney an idea of what we may need to improve.
A pace like we have and a book with so much, very dense, information, is another reason we need to be very sparing on our notes.
We want to take as few notes as possible. It is important to write as few words as necessary to express all of the important ideas we encounter.
In doing this, we accomplish two very important cognitive goals: (1) we decide what is important and (2) we reword it to leave only the essence. These two acts increase your learning. Think about it and you will realize why.
Two more benefits include that (3) we have concise notes, which allows us to review the whole chapter in 5 minutes. Also, (4) we are less likely to burn out. In a substantial course, we need to guard against this.
Try this: take as few notes as is adequate but do not skip anything important.

I think it helps to be prepared by reading first, then talking about the chapter the next day. I agree, we should review all five chapters again before the test.
